GLASS & COMPOSITE MATERIALS

Glass and natural fibers have historically been dipped, coated, or sized in baths of silane or other chemicals. Fiber producers, converters, and “end users” are now showing great interest in water-based polypropylene emulsions, which can be a smart and economical way of incorporating the properties of grafted PP without requiring additional investment in either technology or process.

Using grafted PRIEX® resins in pellet form, converters could also benefit from the compatibility and dispersion properties, significantly reducing consumption of various traditional additives, including some nucleating agents.
